This company’s customer service and technical service is appalling. This MLM just started out of Irvine by a self-renown hip-hop artist from the Philippines and UWAY’s claim to fame (for just a year) is its UBOX. The claim of getting rid of your cable bills forever with the installation of this UBOX could be true, but only if you want to take the time to stroll through all the college student hackers’ applications to finally watch what you want to watch. Hours on the phone and live-chat to customer service, just to be told that my technical expertise was over her head and that she’d have to refer me to a technician. Made a phone appointment for the next day — never received a call. Received an email, though, informing me that my ticket was closed…really? Nobody did anything. I replied with my dilemma and queried again; to no avail.

When I returned the UBOX within the 14 days of a 100% money back guarantee, the company only only partially refunded in form of a check without explanation. When an inquiry was made, I was told that my distributorship fee is not refundable (ok) and I was charged a 10% restocking fee. Upon speaking to the operations manager, Isaac, I was asked irrelevant questions, and then told that “there is nothing [he] could do” to make this right. I explained that there is, indeed, something he could do, he just won’t do it. I explained further that the distributorship fee was a loss, but I’d like the 10% restocking fee refunded. He refused.

This product is definitely not market ready, the company is not organized, the scam of pulling people in with false promises, and then not working out a solution (basically telling me it’s my fault), is unacceptable. If companies do business like this — putting the client’s needs last — then they will surely fail. This one is destined to fail. UWAY and its UBOX is not worth your time, or money, or effort. If an MLM distributor approaches you with the promise of getting rid of your cable fees forever, RUN!

Go with an AppleTV, or a well-known Smart Box; you’ll thank me later.
